Salmon Day

A nice saying to describe a f**ked up day at work ... the experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed and die in the end. A SALMON DAY. Its just a few days, that I actually learnt the literal meaning of this proverb. Shame On Me.

A common day to day instance for a salmon day will be... I spent all the day working my ass off on this freaking spreadsheet, only to have my computer crash with a blue screen of death at the end of the day, losing all the data. Salmon Day is a work place slang, which refers to the experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed somehow in the end. So, why the term Salmon Day ? Salmon spawn upstream. So they swim up stream to lay eggs and continue their generation. So, a salmon takes the hurdle of swimming upstream and sometimes even get killed in the process. Trying hard to achieve something, but getting nowhere.

I tried so hard, and got so far... but in the end it doesn't even matter.

Almost 5 years of wait finally seemed to be fruitful. After American Idiot, Green Day has come up with their new Album this month, 21st Century Breakdown. And, the album simply rocks. With their regular punk genre, the album has some really great numbers. Along with the title song, 21st Century Breakdown, I loved Know Your Enemy (all ready featuring in Big Hit in VH1), Viva La Gloria!, Viva La Gloria (Little Girl), Last of the American Girls, Last Night on Earth, Restless Heart Syndrome, The Static Age, 21 Guns.

The album has reached #1 in the music charts in more than a 100 countries in the 2nd week of its release.
