A Winy Indian Curry ...

Chicken or Mutton... I try this recipe quite often and so thought I'll share it in my blog for any readers to try it. I call it Winy Indian Curry...

Ingredients:

  • 500 Gms. Chicken or Mutton.
  • 2 Tablespoon Red Wine
  • 1 Teaspoon of yogurt or curd.
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 medium size onions.
  • 4-5 green chillies
  • 10-12 pieces of peeled garlic
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves
  • Bay leaves, Indian Garam Masala, Indian chicken/mutton masala
Procedure:
  1. Mix 1 onion, half of a tomato, 2-3 green chillies, 5-6 peeled garlic and coriander leaves in a grinder and grid it till it forms a fine paste.
  2. Take 500 Gms of properly cleaned chicken or mutton, put it in the pressure cooker with one or two cups of water (depends how much curry you want). Add a teaspoon oil, little salt, little turmeric powder to the water. Cook it till the meat is almost tender. Don't over cook.
  3. Once the meat is cooked, extract the pieces in a flat plate and preserve the water in a bowl.
  4. Now add 2 table spoons of red wine to the meat, marinate well with chicken/mutton masala. Put the wine marinated meat in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  5. Take one tablespoon oil in a kadai or a deep frying pan; fry a few bay leaves, mustard seeds. Put finely cut onion, chillies, and the peeled garlics and fry till it turns brown.
  6. Add the mix from step 1 till the mixture forms a fine paste.
  7. Now put the marinated meat into the kadai/frying pan and mix well. Add one teaspoon yogurt/curd and fry till the meat turns brownish. Add garam masala
  8. Add the water (from step 3), and cook for 10 mins in low flame.
  9. Check if the meat is tender else continue with step 8.
  10. Yummy, winy chicken/mutton curry is ready with a little tangy taste. Serve with rice.

A Brand New Himesh

I remember someone telling that, our own Himesh, the Nasal or Oooooo Khajoor singer has done some surgical modification to his vocal cord. Now, his latest song ... Man Ka Radio has actually made me believe it. Got to hear it in TV and actually I found the song different from his earlier offerings. There is almost zero nasal part in this song. See it here ...

@ Jakarta

I came to Jakarta (Indonesia) for an official task. Except for the hectic work schedules, I loved the place, and the overall feeling of being here. Two things which made me kept wondering are Indonesia's currency and the sky-scrappers. Here everything you pay in terms of thousands. 6,000 as the minimum taxi fare... 35,000 for a juice and so on. Downtown Jakarta is full of high rises and are in the shape of 50 - 60 floors. Jakarta is clean, but traffic is as congested as back home. Food is too yummy. I tried English, Chinese, Maxican and even Indian food here and liked the food too much. Roads are ruled by Toyota. Many cars of Indian roads like swift, estilo, innova are also seen here. Local people are very polite and hospitable. Cute pretty ladies are an extra charm of the places. Even though Indonesia is an Islamic nation, but frequency of working girls at restaurant, offices and hotels will be far more than India. It was nice to be in here for my overseas assignment. I experienced Mercedes Benz for the 1st time in life and also got the experience of getting evacuated from a high rise for earthquake.

Law of Conservation of Money

I believe in the law of conservation of money. It states...

Money can neither be created, nor be destroyed. It can only be transformed from one form to another.
By money, I don't necessarily mean the monetary system prevalent in the economy, rather the power of buying. A simple thought in all the different scenarios of day to day life actually says that such a law exists (I might be thinking out of the box !!!). For instance, we get salary, we spend that in buying something. So, the money actually got converted into the form which we bought. I buy a burger, eat it. So, money got transformed to the pleasure of eating, then to the nutrients (if any) which the burger contained. I buy a T-Shirt, wear it. Money got converted to a T-Shirt which gives us pleasure and comfort. So, actually money was never destroyed or created in the process. It got converted from one form to another. So, the rule of thumb is, no one should run behind creating money. Because, money can never be created. We should try to convert it from one form to another. And conversion process always follow the rule of L.H.S=R.H.S. If, this rule is forcibly violated, its bound to face the consequences. Think about Abdul Karim Telgi. He violated the rule and at the end of the day he is doomed.

The Week

It's almost a week now. Life is almost back to normalcy, but yet to be normal. Less crowds in the roads, lesser vehicles. An unknown fear. They say its in the air, in the door handles, the the breathes of every other people. H1N1 took away the ambiance of the whole city for a complete week and the scar is still green. The fear is still reigning in the minds. A sudden outbreak of the epidemic stopped us all. A microscopic entity showed us our real helplessness. But, we fought and we will triumph. Some says its bio-terrorism, some says its the misdeed of those filthy experiments by developed nations... and other says its a order of the nature, a few other says.. its kalyug. Indeed an ill fated memory for all the puneites. But, life moves on. H1N1 Ki Maa Ki Aankh... yes... that's the spirit.

The Lady Cobra

Tan Dole Mera Man Dole - a classic oldies from the 1954 movie Nagin. Sung by Lata Mangeshkar and music directed by Hemant Kumar. The song has a snake charmer's tune in the back ground. The instrument is a Pungi or Bin. I got to hear a cover of the tune of this song a few months back in a local cafe. Just imagine a heavy, thrash version of this traditional tune, totally done by guitar. Decibel, an Indian Metal/Thrash Metal Band from New Delhi had performed this in the Launch Pad of Channel [V] in 2007. One of my friends recently pointed me to the links in the web for this splendid job, which I believe will confuse even a snake.

another rocking one...

Pehli Baar Mohabbat by Mohit Chauhan (OST - Kaminey). A nice song with a soft rock genre.

Here It is :

from Led Zeppelin to Kailash Kher

Music not only makes the singer(s) famous but places as well; specially, when the song is based on a particular place. Led Zeppelin's song Kashmir must have carried the name of the paradise on earth to people who did not know such a place exist in the world. Ofcourse, Kashmir is already famous for the dispute between India & Pakistan which makes it famous for the wrong reasons. Just heard a song from our own Indian singer Kailash Kher's new album Kailasa Chaandan Mein. Its called Bheeg Gaya Mera Mann (Cherrapunjee). Its a nice song with a Sufi genre. Now, many people in our country itself won't know what is Cherrapunjee ? Cherrapunjee is the wettest place in the planet earth. Its a place 60 KM from Shillong (my birth place) and that's why it make me more enthusiastic about it. I am sure many people will do some Google to know what Cherrapunjee means [ if they don't know already :-( ] after listening this song. That's the power of music. The lyrics of the song is awesome too !!!

Listen & Sing Along...

Teekhi teekhi nakuli si boondein
Behke behke se baadal uneende
Geet gaati hawa mein
Gungunaati ghataa mein
Bheeg gaya mera mann

Ho mastiyon ke ghoont pee
Shokiyon mein tair jaa
Ishq ki galiyon mein aa
In palon mein ther jaa
Rab ka hai yeh aaina
Shakla haan isko dikha
Zindagi gudh daud hai
Do ghadi le le mazaa

Chamke chamke yeh jharno ke dhaare
Pal mein malmal se padti fuhaare
Ped hai manchale se
Patte hai chulbule se
Bheeg gaya mera mann

Dagmagaati chandni
Has rahi hai josh mein
Aur patange gaa rahe
Raag maal kos mein
Banke naache behaaya
Besharam pagli hawa
Zindagi milke gale
Has rahi de de dua
Barse barse re ambar ka paani
Jisko pee pee ke dharti deewani
Khil khilane lagi hai
Muskurane lagi hai
Bheeg gaya mera mann

a wish then, a reality now

15 - 16 years ago, when I was in school, I had just seen computers in TV or in magazines. My school didn't have computer as it was a luxury item then and only rich schools had it. But I had collected a lot of information about computer, how does it work, its components ... blah blah. Those days, when I used to write class notes or do home work, I imagined what if I have a computer and I just type in the question and it gives me the answer. But, as per information I collected, I knew that it was not possible. Computer could do only something which you instruct it to do. But, a decade after, this hypothesis no longer is valid. Now computer can do anything. Ask it anything, it will answer. I just recollected these things, because today I had to check if 437 is a prime number for one of my work items. I was too lazy to write a program or a script to do it. So, I typed into google "Is 437 a Prime Number ?" And, yes I was presented with a handful of results. One of them correctly states 437 is not a prime number. 19 multiplied by 23 yields 437. I stared at my workstation and with a sigh said... Wish you were there then !!! Writing notes would have been real fun...

Like Something the Lord Made...

It's one of those movies which pass such a strong message that you kept on thinking about the plot of the movie again and again. Something the Lord Made , a movie about the legendary black cardiac pioneer Vivien Thomas and his complex and volatile partnership with white surgeon Alfred Blalock, the world famous "Blue Baby doctor" who pioneered modern heart surgery.

The movie tells about being wild and ambitious and having the guts to do things against the conventional way. It again tells about loving your work, not caring much about the recognition. At the end of the journey, nothing can stop one's work getting recognized. How, a young guy, educated just past the high school, without attending any school of medicine, with his determination, dedication, aspirations and love of his work became one of the pioneers in modern heart surgery. The excellent skills, ideas which this guy possessed and how he struggled the then war of body color, and the way he excelled, it can only be said as Like Something the Lord Made...

Legally Gay

So, it took almost 62 years for independent India to give equality status to homosexuals. Delhi High Court verdict for legalizing homosexuals and repulsion of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was a positive move taken by otherwise hypocrite Indian law makers. Kudos to that. However, only time will tell how many more years it takes for completely getting away with the social stigma attached with homosexuality.

I was not aware about the exact meaning of Section 377 of IPC till a few days ago. I was taken aback by knowing what it actually states.

Section 377. Unnatural offences

Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Explanation: Penetration is sufficient to constitute the carnal intercourse necessary to the offence described in this section.

So, under this section, oral, anal and even digital penetration among consensual adult heterosexuals is prohibited. Because its against the order of nature ? What a crap !!! Anyways, finally our lawmakers woke up and repelled 377. Its better late than never.

Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha ...

Now that's what I call the magic of Mohit's voice. One of my favorite singers... And, his latest offering is Tune Jo Na Kaha from OST of New York.

Sing Along...

Ummm hmm umm hmm
Ummm hmm umm hmm

Tune jo na kaha
Mein woh sunta raha
Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha

Tune jo na kaha
Mein woh sunta raha
Khamakha Bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha

Jaane kiski humein lag gayi hai nazar
Is Shehar mein Na apna tikana raha
Koi chaht se na ab apni chalta raha

Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha
Dard phele se hai jyaaada
Khud se phir yeh vaada
Khamosh Nazrein Rahein Bezubaan

Abb Na pehli si baatein hai
Bolo to Lab thartharatein hai
Raaz yeh dil ka na ho baiyan
Hoga na ab asar humpe nahin
Hum safar mein to hai Humsafar hai nahi

Door jaata raha Paas aata raha
Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha

Aaya woh phir Nazar aise
Baat chidne lagi phir se
Aankhon mein chubhta kal ka dhuan

Haal tera na humsa hai
Is khushi mein kyon gumsa hai
Basne laga kyon phir woh jahan
Woh jahan dur jis se gaye the nikal
Phir se aankhon mein karti hai jaise pehal

Lambha beeta hua ,Dil Dukhata raha
Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha

Tune jo na kaha
Mein woh sunta raha
Khamakha bewajah Khwaab Bunta raha

Jaane kiski humein lag gayi hai nazar
Is Shehar mein Na apna tikana raha
Koi chahat se abb apni chalta raha

Bhuj gai Aag thi Daag Jalta raha......

The Salary Song...

I remember, when I was a kid, 1st of every month felt so special. Dad used to get sweets for us and if its not a Thursday then we will have a delicious dinner with non vegetarian menu. It doesn't really mean that on other days we never had sweets or good dinner, but there was something special for 1st day of the month. The custom continued throughout my stay in my native place. And, this song reminds me of those days.

hmmm... that was it

I woke up at around 6:20 AM. 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM was my slot to attend nature's call, to brush my teeth and to take a shower. I had to be ready by 7:30 AM and to catch the bus at 7:45 AM. I reached there by 8:30 AM. I was so confused about just everything. I followed the crowd there, as everybody was doing. I bought my breakfast, and in the cafeteria met some familiar faces. My day started at 9 AM, with a lunch break at 12:30 PM. The day was very very hectic. Paperwork, introducing myself and getting acquainted with the new processes that I had to follow for the next 50 odd days. The day ended at around 8PM in the night and finally reached back by 9PM. The same schedule was supposed to start next day again and then again ... and again.
Yes, that was 5 years ago. I joined TATA Consultancy Services and was in Trivandrum for the Initial Learning Programme for 50 days or so. It was the day, when I started my professional life and 5 years have now passed. Except for earning a few lacs of rupees every year, I think I have not done anything significant in these 5 years. Life just passed by and as a sheep in a flock, I was just following the pace, not really knowing where I am heading. Its true that other side of the hill is always green, but I think some of my friends , batch mates did significantly well in these 5 years, but I think, I have not done anything great. Just paid a few lacs of rupees to the society, not knowing if the money really got used for some good cause or just got wasted in the hands of politicians and law makers. I dont repent about not doing anything great in the last 5 years, but sometimes I feel sad that I really wasted some of my vital years of life. It might be I dont know what I want to do in life. And, I know this gonna continue...

A Tribute to the King of Pop

Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing you

PRITAM - King of Plagiarism

Here goes Pritam again - Music Director of upcoming bollywood movie NewYork starring John, Katrina & Niel.

Had Pritam been a computer software professional, he would have sold all Open Source Softwares in his name. I don't know what the Indian Music Industry is doing. Pritam should be banned from making (rather copying) music. Atleast he should have the ethics of putting the tag "Inspired From:" under his music labels.

Anyways, the song Hai Junoon, OST from NewYork is copied from Samson's (A Band from Indonesia) Naulari Lelaki. Here goes both the songs.

The Winner Stands Alone

Paulo Coelho again. The Winner Stands Alone - his latest offering. Read 30-35 pages and I just loved it. The novel deals with the story of Igor, a Russian guy - handsome, rich and successful, whose wife leaves him for successful fashion designer. How, Igor follows his dream of bringing his wife back. The novel will tell the futility of celebrity, wealth, the meaningless of the fabulous lives of the riches.

I loved one part of the first few pages of the novel. It gave an ultimate definition of fashion. Fashion is merely a way of saying - I belong to your world. I'm wearing the same uniform as your army; so don't shoot.

In another part, its told "A man never notices what a woman is wearing, because they are always mentally undressing her" ... awesome.

This novel gonna be a cool one.

The novel is available for online reading here.

The Can of Coke

It dates back to April 1995. Although, coke was launched much before that, but the red colored can of coke was just becoming popular in my place. If I remember correctly, it used to cost 15 bucks. However, for me (or may be for people like us), it was a luxury to drink a can of coke. But, looking at our enthusiasm, or may be desire, dad got us 2 cans of coke. I remember this, because it should be 13th or 14th of April - during Axxomiya New Year (Bihu) times. The whole things doesn't end here. After finishing the cans, I cut open the mouth of it, for making it a holder for pens, pencils etc. And 2 years back, in 2007, when I was in my native place, I saw the same can of coke, nicely put in a table (which used to be my study table). And, I am quite sure that its still there. After 14 years, that can is not just a pen holder anymore. Its a repository of my teenage days. A rememberance of those simple and entropy free days. Which cease to exist now. The God of Small Things ??? These type of remembrance looks silly... but I feel it takes us away from too much materialistic feelings which reigns everybody's heart and mind.

Rhythm of the Rain

....
These are the seasons of emotion

And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient
Upon us all a little rain
Must fall.
Just a little rain?
Ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

- The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin

So, the first rain of the season (not counting the pre monsoon showers).
And the feeling of the monsoon knocking the roof of the houses really rocks. So, if the Rain God is kind enough, we will have four months of Green , Green and just Green all around. And, everybody will be just singing ... Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain ...

B.I.N.G

"Bing Is Not Google"... B.I.N.G http://www.bing.com/ ... a GNU way of saying GNU is Not Unix.

That's what Microsoft calls its new search engine. I checked out bing without comparing it to google and I liked it. Specially, the driving directions it gives. Surprisingly, bing could give me the right way to my house from my office. Since its the Microsoft's way, I liked the interface as well. Above all, bing does some socially sensitive searching. When I search SEX in it , it gives me the following result:

The search sex may return sexually explicit content.
To get results, change your search terms.

An India specific search result ? Whaterver... Microsoft has also released an official mozilla extension to add bing as a search engine into firefox. But, its always good to use it with IE 8. Somehow, I didn't get a good feel of using MS Virtual Earth with browsers other than IE. Necessity is often the mother of invention. When MS couldnot get Yahoo under its umbrella, it came out with bing.

Salmon Day

A nice saying to describe a f**ked up day at work ... the experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed and die in the end. A SALMON DAY. Its just a few days, that I actually learnt the literal meaning of this proverb. Shame On Me.

A common day to day instance for a salmon day will be... I spent all the day working my ass off on this freaking spreadsheet, only to have my computer crash with a blue screen of death at the end of the day, losing all the data. Salmon Day is a work place slang, which refers to the experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream only to get screwed somehow in the end. So, why the term Salmon Day ? Salmon spawn upstream. So they swim up stream to lay eggs and continue their generation. So, a salmon takes the hurdle of swimming upstream and sometimes even get killed in the process. Trying hard to achieve something, but getting nowhere.

I tried so hard, and got so far... but in the end it doesn't even matter.

21st Century Breakdown

Almost 5 years of wait finally seemed to be fruitful. After American Idiot, Green Day has come up with their new Album this month, 21st Century Breakdown. And, the album simply rocks. With their regular punk genre, the album has some really great numbers. Along with the title song, 21st Century Breakdown, I loved Know Your Enemy (all ready featuring in Big Hit in VH1), Viva La Gloria!, Viva La Gloria (Little Girl), Last of the American Girls, Last Night on Earth, Restless Heart Syndrome, The Static Age, 21 Guns.

The album has reached #1 in the music charts in more than a 100 countries in the 2nd week of its release.

what a shot !!!

"The fast has come to an end in view of the fact that the Sri Lankan government has announced an end to the war," said Karunanidhi.

and Tamil Refugees in Sri Lanka lived happily ever after...

Being a bachelor has often compelled me to starve myself. Sometimes I feel too bored to cook, or sometimes I feel too bored to eat also. So, I call off my lunch, dinner plan and pleasantly pass 6 - 7 hrs. Half a day fasting was never tough for me. But ironically, my fasting has never helped anyone. In fact, the cockroaches in my kitchen gets angry, as they don't find anything in the thrash can. But, 6 hours of fasting by Tamil Nadu CM has compelled Sri Lankan govt. to call off war against LTTE. You wake up at 6 AM in the morning, skip your break fast and have lunch at 12:00 PM. And you are done with your fasting. Sounds Interesting. Events like this may not do anything good but can collect a huge amount of votes in the election time. Seriously, what a shot !!!

201st Post

writing my 201st post. 4 years of blogging... 200 posts ... not a bad count at all. Intially, I used to blog, because I loved to blog. Now a days I blog because if I am not blogging for a few weeks, I feel my blog has gone stale. Anyways... But life has not changed much in all these years. In some cases, it has gone worst. Life is going very slow and boring for past few months. A vacation gave pleasure for few weeks, but after that, its still the same old life. People says, take a break... a change is necessary. But, I believe, its great only for the days you are off. Once you come back, you are back to square one. Statutory Warning: Feeling bored in recession time can be fatal. Whatever, life is full of boredom. To overcome my boredom, I was trying to find out what the mental state is called when one don't find anything interesting, everything appears too ho-hum. May be it will kill some of my boredom. I am just beating about the bush. But, seriously, I am bored with life.

The SUN Sets...

Nothing is permanent in this world. On April 20th - 2009, we saw the end of a 25+ years of innovation. People says the SUN finally sets. I, personally was a great admirer of this company. And, even without the name, I will continue to do so. SUN Microsystems gave some of most innovative technologies to the world of computing. Solaris, Ultra SPARC, JAVA, NFS, ZFS, Open Storage, Open Solaris ... and the list goes on and on... SUN was a pioneer in technology, but something went wrong in their strategies, while presenting those technologies to the world. Its a known fact that SUN gave birth to Java, but companies like IBM and Oracle made the most money out of it. But, if its a bad news that SUN has ceased to exist now, but the good news is that atleast IBM didnot buy it. Hopefully, Oracle can maintain the pace of SUN's immovation. But, one question gives me real nightmare ... MySQL.. what now ? Is it doomed ? Although Oracle's Database and MySQL fall into completely different markets, will Oracle nurture the growth of MySQL ? MySQL is such an amazing piece of software that no one will like to see its doom day ... But nobody knows what is it store for future !!! Computer and IT industry is fast contracting from last few years, the bigger amoeba is growing in size and smaller ones disappearing ... Everything is fair and fine in the game of money and power... But, none gives a damn to the emotions and feelings of an employee or user, which gets terribly hurt by these acquisitions...

BLEED INDIA '09

A Terrorist ? Or, A Celebrity ?

We have a new celebrity in the country these days. Azmal Kasab... the lone captured terrorist of 26/11. After killing 3 prominent cops of Maharashtra Anti Terroist Squad, few other policemen and an uncounted number of civilians in CST, this mother f**ker is a celebrity now. India is giving a fair trail to him, arranging lawyers, VIP security and what not !!! All with tax payer's money. Media is flashing his news all day long, making it too difficult to digest those dire facts. A man who was caught red handed after he killed so many people, and our country is showing respect to human rights by giving him a fair trial. Cut the Crap mann. Pakistan will keep raping our country till we start giving Pakistan replies in the language it understands. Instead of doing that, the leaders of my country goes to America and cries for help.. Obama... Obama... And those shameless leaders now asks for vote. Holy Shitt...

Jai Ho - You Are My Destiny

AR Rahman with Pussy Cat Dolls Feat. Nicole Scherzinger

AR Rahman ft. Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah & Mahalaxmi Iyer

Sippin' in the Summer Sun

Back to blogging after many weeks. Its the summer time. Mercury is soaring at 40 degrees and the the environment around is even hotter with Election '09 fever. BJP is promising Ram Rajya, Congress wants support for another 5 years. Some other are publishing their manifesto with grudge against computers, mechanized farming and English education and some doing their usual blame games. But, till now I have not heard anyone promising 24x7 water and electricity, safety & security to life and property, job opportunities, better roads and communication. Basic necessities of life will be as usual missing. Election means nothing but again some Dhoti-Kurta morons or criminals securing their lives for another 5 years. This election will be proved again as another brick in the wall. Sounds pessimistic, but true. I am busy with my usual life, unforseen problems and in the end life is just passing by. I am in a foot ball ground along with 21 other odd players, but I can't see the goal keeper or the goal post. But, everyday I am just running behind a stupid ball, kicking it, passing it ... and its just going on ... and on ...

Well... this is a great feeling ... blogging from a free internet hub at the airport. So, am in the Changi Intl' Airport - Singapore. Must be one of the biggest, most sophisticated airport in the world. As, I am heading home and in transit for my next flight, I thogut, it will be a great idea to blog from here. So, end of a long vacation... and looking for more and more such vacations ....

a vacation... just WOW

After nearly 5 yrs, I have been into this long vacation. I remember, in 2004 after my semester end, I had a vacation of arounf 45 days. Now, I had a vacation of around 3 weeks. This vacation was a such a wonderful one. Everything was new. New experiences, new places. And above all, new member in my family... my niece. My 1st overseas trip... And, just one more day; I am back to my old life... life with bits and bytes. This trip will be remembered, all along my life...

things I will miss...

On my maiden trip to Bay Area in US, I realised some things which I will never get back home. During my short stay here, here is a list of 10 things, which I feel, I will miss it in my home land.

  1. Cleanliness
  2. Cars... Cars... and Cars...
  3. Excellent Roads & Disciplined Traffic
  4. The weather
  5. Yummy Pork
  6. Good Manners (of people in malls, stores etc.)
  7. Super Fast Internet (No worry for buffering of online movies)
  8. Uninterrupted Water
  9. Uninterrupted Electricity
  10. Silence...

I believe, some of these things which are very basic for human life. Forget the extravagant stuffs this country has to offer. Everything seems to be so civilised here. Is it the money factor ? Does being rich makes you more civilized ? I don't know. But, years and years to go, before these are realised in my country... or may be never !!!

SFO Downtown

to get a feel of real America, I visited San Francisco (SFO). Yess, thats what I saw in TV and movies. Place full skyscrappers, cars, nice resturents and all that is expected and imagined in America. A drive through Highway - 1, the scenic SFO Golden Gate, Pier 39 followed by a delicious dinner of sea food at Fishermans' Wharf. The skyscarappers at SFO downtown were like WOW. Highway -1 by the Pacific is too good a drive. Truly a memorable visit...

Bon Voyage

so, finally I am in America. The land of wonder and may be a majority Indian's wish to be atleast once be here in their lifetime. I travelled back to time to reach here. Started in the midnight and reached here in the afternoon of the same day :-) ... seriously crazy. So, what did I feel like when I first landed here ? Nothing. I felt, as though I had been here before and I knew the places will look like this or that. Nice houses, clean roads, lifestyle, and cars ... just WOW. Basically, whatever best in everything can be imagined (or more than that) back home are materialised here. May be the same feel of going to Bombay from the remotest village in India. But for me, its just 2 days now. As days passed, and I explore more and more things, my imagination about America will come true and true.

Slow Economy = Green Planet

A slow economy means diminished demand. A reduction in demand leads to price cut. Cost of crude oil in the international market is a live example of this demand and supply equation. Demand and supply always fluctuates between high and low, while raw material always takes a downward curve in its availability. When economy was free from recession, demand for petroleum products were high, and future speculation on its demand by the developed nations aggravated the problem. And, the result was sky high price in petrol. High price degenerated the petrol pump owners' moral and it lead to adulterated fuel. Adulterated fuel results in more pollution as more and more unburnt HC are released to the environment. I saw a true picture of this when I did the PUC for my car a few days back. Six months back, when unleaded petrol cost was Rs. 55 / litre, the Hydro Carbon emission was 107 PPM. And, after six months, when this cost reduced to Rs. 45 / litre, the emission is 35 PPM. These numbers give a live instance, how high petrol costs results in adulteration of fuel, however reputed the petrol pump is !!! A positive side of a slow economy. A Recession affected economy leads to a green planet. Unbelievable but true.

Another Valentine Song - My Favorite

Sing Along...

Loves the funeral of hearts, And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood, On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts, And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun, Separating me from you

She was the sun, Shining upon
The tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail
He was the moon, Painting you
With its glow so vulnerable and pale

Loves the funeral of hearts, And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood, On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts, And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun, Separating me from you

She was the wind, carrying in
All the troubles and fears here for years tried to forget
He was the fire, restless and wild
And you were like a moth to that flame

The heretic seal beyond divine
Pray to God whos deaf and blind
The last nights the souls on fire
Three little words and a question why

Loves the funeral of hearts, And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood, On flowers of evil in bloom

The funeral of hearts, And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun, Separating me from you

A Perfect Valentine Song

Sing Along...

i'm not a perfect person. there are many things i wish i didnt do
but i continue learning. i never meant to do those things to you.
and so i have to say before i go, that i just want you to know

i've found a reason for me, to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new, and the reason is you

i'm sorry that i hurt, its something i must live with everyday
and all the pain i put you through, i wish that i could take it all away
and be the one who catches all your tears, thats why i need you to hear

i'm not a perfect person, i never meant to do those things to you
and so i have to say before i go that i just want you to know

i've found a reason for me, to change who i used to be
a reason to start over new, and the reason is you
i've found a reason to show a side of me you didnt know
a reason for all that i do, and the reason is you...

sidhe apni aukad pe...

terrorist attack - denial - lie - denial - lie - .... - finally acceptance - that's what is called "apni aukad pe aa gaya" ... Pakistan has to finally admit that the filth which it had sent to India actually belonged to its soil. They should have done this acceptance long before. After all, its a shame on their face, the way they disowned their martyr. How the terrorits' families must have felt after their loved ones laid down their wasted lives for a wasted cause and after all these, again they are disregarded, disowned by their own country. It looked as though Ek Atankvadi Phir Se Ek Kutte Ki Maut Maara Gaya !!! Pakistan is a disease, and time is witness how its neighbours and literally the whole world is infected by it. But Pakistan is not like AIDS or Ebola. Its like cholera or typhoid. Sometimes it is fatal, but in other times it can be tackled. But the disease will exist till it is eliminated completely.

Hindu Talibanism - WTF ?

The word "sena" really drive me crazy. This time its Sri Ram Sena. What the F**K ? Till the Mangalore Pub attack, these morons were unknown. And, now its their ban on Valentine's Day. A desperate attempt to show of the frustrations of their erected weapons down their belly... in the name of protecting Indian Culture. They have warned that they will marry off all dating couples on Valentines Day. A group of misguided Hindu fanatics guided by some f**king saffron worn moron called Muthalik. Whether its the Mangalore Pub attack or their so called ban on Valentine's Day, these section of people has come down heavily on the freedom of expression of urban Indian. And enough is enough. Although, I personally dont celebrate V'Day, but young couples who does it should celebrate it with full spirit. Celebrate it, party hard and piss off all the beer in the mouth of Muthalik and all his sena members. Talibanism in the name of Indian Culture can never be tolerated.

Such a Joke !!!

India is a seriously a land of wonder. Here everything what happens around seems like a big joke. Another such joke was Aishwarya Rai & Akshay Kumar being conferred with the highest civilian award of the nation in this year's Republic Day - the Padma Shri award. When I first watched the news in TV, I was astonished to some extent. But, later I could realize that this is India. Here, kuch bhi ho sakta hain !!! But, I am still thinking the reasons or the contributions of those two celebrities for getting such an award. This is too much of a joke. If the award was on the basis of paying the highest Income Tax among all bollywood icons or on the basis of taking exemption from Income Tax showing invalid NRI status; then its ok. Otherwise, what the f**k ? The jury members must be out of their mind while shortlisting them or there is something seriously fishy. If Aishwaraya or Akshay can get such awards, then there are hell lot of other people who can be given such an award. Infact, I, myself should get Padma Shri. Because, there is no reason behind such awards. It clearly states the futility of such awards. Holy Shit !!!

now thats what I call a country song of India ...

Height of Positive Thinking !!!

Few years back, may be in 2003, I watched Rahul Bose's Mumbai Matinee. Infact that was the 1st movie I watched in a multiplex paying 90 bucks for a ticket. Mumbai Matinee is a light comedy and feel good movie about a 32 year old virgin man (played by Rahul Bose), desperately seeking to lose his virginity. And in the way of doing so he suffers from a hell lot of trouble but in the end he gets a hot babe (played by Parizad Zorabia) as his life partner. Going in the same line of thought, let me think myself as a 26 year old virgin, but ofcourse not as desperate as Rahul Bose was !!! But, does anybody in this world dies virgin ? I believe, a person should be blessed a ton to die a virgin. Nobody dies a virgin, life fucks us all. told by none other than Kurt Cobain (vocalist & founder of American grunge rock band Nirvana) And, thats what I call the height of positive thinking for a virgin like me ... Be +ve yaar... !!!

a feel good feeling

I enjoy shopping. It really gives me a lot of satisfaction and relaxation. And, 50% off Happiness Sale kind of shopping is like WOW. But, the crowd and the rush in the malls during those times really betrays me. The commotion takes away all the pleasures of shopping. Today, as I was waiting in the queue of such a shopping festival to pay my shopping bills in one of my favorite malls in town, I found a different reason to feel good. As the counter guy was scanning the barcodes and people were paying their bills, I was thinking the backbone of the whole electronic system was powered by the softwares written by my company. Be it the storage virtualization software, or the file-system, or the clustering solution behind it; its something on which I have contributed something. I was wondering how the data was going over the wire to a backend database, sitting on top of a file system and volume manager and how a cluster of nodes was responsible to make the whole system highly available. A feel good feeling rush through my body and mind and I end up looking at other shopping cravy people with a feeling of pride !!!

A Dog & It's Day

As the saying goes... Every Dog Has It's Day, which means that everyone is successful during some period in their life. But looking at the absolute meaning, Dogs indeed have one day in their lives in Nepal.
Kukur Tihar - "Dogs Day" is a festival in Nepal when dogs are worshiped, fed and given a VIP treatment. A dog plays many roles in our society. We have dogs in our houses as guardian of the house. As the legend also says, according to the Hindu scripture, the Mahabharat, dogs accompanied Dharmaraj Yudhisthir on his journey to heaven and that there is a dog at Yama's gate guarding the gate to the underworld. The dog is also the steed of the fearful Bhairab, the god of destruction. So on this day a big red tika is put on a dog's forehead and a beautiful garland around the neck. After worshipping the dog, it is given very delicious meal. This day the saying 'every dog has his day' comes true; for even a stray dog is looked upon with respect. Nepalese pray to the dog to guard their house as he guards the gate of the underworld and to divert destruction away from their homes.
Everyone indeed has it's own Day...

Slumdog Millionaire

got to watch this much acclaimed movie - Slumdog Millionaire. And I loved it. A movie which is the reflection of a true India. I don't know if I am right, but I can relate Arvind Adiga's White Tiger and this movie. The plot of the movie is just too good. A run for true love is shown through the various phases of life of a young boy.

Children Playing Cricket in the Runaway of Airport :: It happens only in India

Village School Teacher teaching Three Musketeers :: A true picture of schools in India

Communal Riot :: Politically inflicted religious conflicts, an Indian identity

Riot Victims to Rag Pickers to Beggars to Gangsters :: Go to any Metro to see the reality

Call Centers :: India Shining

Who wants to be a millionaire :: TV Shows & Cricket Matches can put the country in a standstill

Police Station & Third Degrees :: Another Brick in the wall

VT Station & Reunion :: Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is India depicted through silver screen. A Must Watch !!!

Happy New Year - 2009

1st post of the new year - 2009. I wish that everything is fine in this year. All I want is a cool and calm year. With that thing in mind, probably I celebrated a very quiet and silent New Year's Eve. The night of 31st December was just an usual day for me. As any other day, I had my dinner at the office cafeteria and reached home late. Watched a movie to keep me awake till 12:00 AM. This was the quietest New Year Celebration I ever had, as I remember. Hope this 2009 be a very normal year for me and everyone around me. If not prosperous and very joyous, let it be just a normal year ahead.

Seven Commandments

As a part of our 12th class syllabus, we read The Animal Farm by George Orwell. I really loved the book, specially the Seven Commandments. These were a list of seven rules or laws that were supposed to keep order and ensure elementary animalism within the Animal Farm. The Seven Commandments were designed to unite the animals together in a common cause against the humans and to prevent animals from following the humans' evil habits:

  • Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
  • Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
  • No animal shall wear clothes.
  • No animal shall sleep in a bed.
  • No animal shall drink alcohol.
  • No animal shall kill any other animal.
  • All animals are equal.
Later as corruption engulfed the animal farm, some commandments got modified to suit the time.
  • No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets
  • No animal shall drink alcohol to excess
  • No animal shall kill any other animal without cause

Finally, the commandments merged into one - "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

Truly, it reflects the current state of our society. How rules get manipulated to suit the law makers' needs and convenience !!!

GTalk or STalk ???

These days MTV shows a program called GTalk, hosted by two female roadies of '08 - Anmol & Shambhavi. Well, I liked the look of Shambhavi. So, as I was surfing through the channels, I got to watch some parts of this program on a Sunday afternoon. MTV showcases this program as Girly Gossips Unplugged. I watched it for some time, and later it made me feel so yuckky. Mann ... what the crap? These two girls were shown as though they are sitting in their stylish kitchen and gossiping. And the topics of gossip are - stinking arm pits of boys, autorickshaw driver touching their private parts and handing over curreny notes, men pissing by the side of the roads, stinking socks of men etc. etc. And from time to time both these girls are uttering just a single one liner - "It's so disgusting you know ..." Oh My Good God !!! What the F**k ??? Does girls do such shitty gossips that MTV had to glorify it through a program called GTalk? It should have been named as STalk (Shitty Talk). I wish Google sue MTV for using the name GTalk. This world is so unfair. There are people like me who work from 9 to 9 and still probably not earning as much as these girls are earning by just doing some crappy things onscreen. God Tussi Bahut Unfair Ho !!!

One Man - Two Genres

Very few knows that, Vishal of Vishal-Shekhar fame was basically a rock vocalist of Mumbai based Indian Rock Band PENTAGRAM. Presenting two numbers sung by the same man. The genre being so different...

VOICE by Pentagram

Jaane Kyun (OST : Dostana)

Eyes of a Stranger

All alone now
Except for the memories
Of what we had and what we knew
Everytime I try to leave it behind me
I see something that reminds me of you
Every night the dreams return to haunt me
Your rosary wrapped around your throat
I lie awake and sweat, afraid to fall asleep
I see your face looking back at me

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
Ive always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

Is this all thats left
Of my life before me
Straight jacket memories, sedative highs
No happy ending like theyve always promised
Theres got to be something left for me
And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
Ive always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare [lies behind my stare]

How many times must I live this tragedy
How many more lies will they tell me
All I want is the same as everyone
Why am I here, and for how long

And I raise my head and stare
Into the eyes of a stranger
Ive always known that the mirror never lies
People always turn away
From the eyes of a stranger
Afraid to know what
Lies behind the stare

The Holidays

blogging after a long time. We have our year end break started from today and my God... its 10 long days. I really don't have any idea what to do. Cleaning my house, washing my clothes and all house hold chores will just take some of my hours. And , I am getting nightmares thinking about sitting idle at home all day. But, I believe this is the right time to spend some time really with myself. May be I want to go somewhere far from the maddening crowd, a place where there is no telephone, no emails, no TV, no material thoughts... just me and myself. I wish ... such a place exists. So, finally I plan to spend a solitary vacation just with me. And, I really wish that I don't get bothered by any external factors. 10 long days ... just me, myself and my solitude.

WTF...

Last night I watched Subhash Ghai's Yuuvraj, and the the only thing which I uttered was "What The Fuck ?" I mean how can Subhash Ghai make such a crappy movie. The only thing worth watching in the movie was Katrina and the places of Europe. I feel pity for the people who must have watched the movie in theatres and wasted their hard earned money. Ghai saab must have realized what crap he was doing when he was making the movie. After all he is a matured film maker. Many "B" category movies will be better than Yuuvraj. Probably Ghai has forgotten the weightage of his name. After all, whats there in the name ?

The Feeling of Belonging...

26/11 - Mumbai Terror Attacks showed us how a feeling of belonging can unite us against the evils. Although I was among those millions of Indians who were sitting in front of TVs, in a state of utter anger, frustrated, desperate seeing their bleeding country; it was our Heroes in Uniform who put their lives in stake for the country. I can well imagine that it was not just beyond the call of duty but the security forces were doing something far more than that. The CCTV footage of CST showing two policement tackling the hardcore terrorists with just one primitive gun was truly inspiring for every Indian. It was a sense of belonging to this nation, to this society which gave them the energy and determination to those security personnels to face the bullets of the evil forces. If such a feeling ever come to the minds and hearts of our notorious politicians, probably our country will be a better place to live in. Our country is paying the price of filithy politics - be it Babri Masjid Demolition, be it Godhra Riots. And above all these is the politics which the British did 61 years ago - the Two Nation Theory. But the damage is already done. The need of the hour is to wake up and grow that feeling of belonging within us. The day when we achieve this, elements like LeT, JeM or any terrorist outfts will look like silly toilet germs, which can be killed with just any toliet cleaners. Amen...

A Resume of a Different Kind

Some terrorists managed to put Mumbai in a stand still. These killing machines were trained to their jaws in inflicting terror. I thought, what must be the pre-requisite to enroll into those misguided Islamic Terror Outfits like LeT or Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin? I could think about the resume of such an aspirant.

Lets Take a Pledge

After the terror saga getting over, its now the estimation of the loss incurred upon us by the fucking neighbor of us. I have full trust on the Tatas that old glory of Taj will be revived and they will rebuild Taj inch by inch. But, its the loss of human lives which can never be regained. Only the bad memory will remain. Some very unfortunates lost their entire family in the whole episode.
2008 was a year which went very worng for all Indians. A blood bath was seen almost every month. But now Enough is Enough. Lets take a pledge at this hour to say no to our nasty politician to take advantage of these events and again divide us on basis of our religion and languages we speak. Where was Raj Thakerey? Where was Laloo Prasad? At the time of crisis ... Raj should have come and join the security personnels in protecting Mumbai from the terrorists, rather then protecting Mumbai from Biharis in the other wise peace time. Its getting unbearable now. Our mother-fucker neighbour let loose some rats plagued by Islamic Extremism to destroy the lives, property and harmony of our country. The irony of the fact is that these Islamic Rats get local support in our country from some other rats who have also got infected by this plague virus of Islamic Extremism / Jihad. This virus has entered the roots of the society to such an extent that its difficult to prevent it now. Only thing we can do is to carry on with our normal lives and show our ass to the evils. What can some misguided religious rats do ? Kill 100 ? Kill 1000 ? At most kill 10000 and blow up Twin Towers / Taj. But lets not fear. If we fear and get scared, these mother fuckers will get encouragement to do more nasty deeds.
Men is mortal. If not by terrorists , we will die one day any way by disease or accident or old age. So why fear ? Lets Live Life... Lets show the Holy Fuckers that their filty virus can't infect us and take its toll ? Lets take the pledge that we wont get scared, and live as normally as ever before but lets be cautious to make our society safe and secure.

I Salute You All !!!

Finally, after 60 hrs. the terror drama is over. After 2.5 days of battle, the savior of the nation gave us a sigh of relief. Utter loss of human life and property, but our heroes prevented more loss which otherwide would have happened. Its the time to congratulate our heroes the NSGs, the Marine Commandos, the Indian Army, Mumbai police, the fire men, and last but not the least our media personnel who risked their lives to update us on every seconds of development. As per official report, 15 police men , 2 NSGs sacrified their lives to protect Mumbai, to protect us from terrorism. Not to forget all those unsung heroes who engaged themselves someway or the other in those 60 difficult hours. Some collected bottles of blood for the injured, some waited outside the sites with the relatives of the victims and someothers kept awake all night to keep our the security personnels fresh by giving them Tea-Biscuits. A combined effort of all once again proved the futility of nasty terrorism. The filthy rats who turned Mumbai into a war zone are finally killed, eliminated.
Hats of to all the people who helped eliminating the elements of terror. Because of you, I can still feel that there is someone, somewhere to protect us. Its you, Heroes in Uniform whom we can trust, we can rely on in the most difficult hours. 1.1 billion Indians owe you for our lives and property.

The Idiot Box...

Although I spend 300 bucks every month for my DTH subscription, but I don't really get to see programs worth the money. Except for the Hindi and English movie channels and few news & info channels, all other channels sucks big time. VH1 is also deteriorating every passing day as they show more of Saturday Night Live and less of Music. MTV is completly Roadies TV now and [V] is Lola TV. MTV should be renamed as RTV. Hindi news channels are all craps and I can actually smell the shits when I am surfing through the channels. The Hindi entertainment channels are full of reality shows and sometimes I doubt how real the shows are. I must admit that the persons who participate in those shows are talented, but the judges are all craps. It makes me wonder how can Sonali Bendre or Rakhi Sawant can judge the music talents. Had the shows were realistic shows of item numbers or bare it all competitions, Rakhi would have been the right judge. Mann, she does not even know how to talk. And all these constitute the sorry state of Indian TV Industry or may be the bad taste of Indian audience. The TV has indeed become an idiot box.

Love Your Job, Not the Company

LOVE YOUR JOB, BUT NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN COMPANY STOPS LOVING YOU - Narayana Murthy

...at this time of recession and economic crisis, when premier companies are laying off their employees, I can feel the gravity of this saying by Narayana Murthy - Infosys founder and
one of the top 50 influential persons of Asia. But, few people can be so practical in nature to follow the saying in one's professional and personal life. After spending more than 10 hrs. of the day, 5 days a week (6 or sometimes 7 days for people like me), one is bound to fall in love with the workplace or the company. For people like me, who have very few personal life except for writing blogs, listening music, watching movies, reading books and cooking food, workplace becomes such a comfort zone that you actually end up spending a lot of your time in it. And, finally one day due to some fucking economic crisis, the employer is subjected to cost cutting and you get laid off. You are asked to leave the place in a nick of time where you had spent months and years of your life. As though, a powerful blast has destroyed everthing in just a fraction of time. The person on whom such things happen can only feel the pain and trauma. Although, I am safe till now, I can't say when my time will come. Its really tragic to see colleagues leaving under such circumstances. People with whom you had lunches, shared jokes, helped each other in professional matters or sometimes even personally; you lose them just instantly. Its a real shitty feeling.

Is it really realistic?

I watched the much hyped and most awaited movie of the season - Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion. But, honestly speaking I found nothing in the movie which was worth watching. And, I was left a bit disappointed after watching it. The lead actresses did some good job; Priyanka, Kangana and even new comer Mugdha was good. But, the storyline was something which was known to everyone. The drugs connection of fashion industry, catwalk to sidewalk story of former model Gitanjali Nagpal, wardrobe malfunction of model Carol Gracias, wide spread prevalence of gays in fashion world are something known to almost all urban Indian, or may be even to small towners. So, there was nothing new or anything realistic in it. That's what fashion industry is all about. The movie was all about some ramp events with a mediocre story. Some of the scenes like models taking endless puffs, drinking wine in backstage can be seen in a more realistic manner in FTV. All in all it must have been a wastage of Rs. 200 for multiplex audiences and a timepass of 2.5 hrs.

Devotional Death Metal ?

Have anyone heard of Devotional Death Metal ? The answer is a big NO. Similarly, Hindu Terrorism is something which doesn't exist. These days all the news channels are telecasting news items, newspapers writing articles on Hindu Terrorism. But, it must be something politically motivated stuffs to carry away the attention of people from the serials blasts the country faced almost throughout the year of 2008. I read an article on the 10th Nov - '08 issue of Outlook magazine. Just presenting it in this post. I liked the article, because I also have a similar belief on the topic.

THE HINDU RATE OF WRATH
by Francois Gautier

Is there such a thing as 'Hindu terrorism', as the arrest of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur for the recent Malegaon blasts may tend to prove? Well, I guess I was asked to write this column because I am one of that rare breed of foreign correspondents—a lover of Hindus! A born Frenchman, Catholic-educated and non-Hindu, I do hope I'll be given some credit for my opinions, which are not the product of my parents' ideas, my education or my atavism, but garnered from 25 years of reporting in South Asia (for Le Journal de Geneve and Le Figaro).

In the early 1980s, when I started freelancing in south India, doing photo features on kalaripayattu, the Ayyappa festival, or the Ayyanars, I slowly realised that the genius of this country lies in its Hindu ethos, in the true spirituality behind Hinduism. The average Hindu you meet in a million villages possesses this simple, innate spirituality and accepts your diversity, whether you are Christian or Muslim, Jain or Arab, French or Chinese. It is this Hinduness that makes the Indian Christian different from, say, a French Christian, or the Indian Muslim unlike a Saudi Muslim. I also learnt that Hindus not only believed that the divine could manifest itself at different times, under different names, using different scriptures (not to mention the wonderful avatar concept, the perfect answer to 21st century religious strife) but that they had also given refuge to persecuted minorities from across the world—Syrian Christians, Parsis, Jews, Armenians, and today, Tibetans. In 3,500 years of existence, Hindus have never militarily invaded another country, never tried to impose their religion on others by force or induced conversions.

You cannot find anybody less fundamentalist than a Hindu in the world and it saddens me when I see the Indian and western press equating terrorist groups like SIMI, which blow up innocent civilians, with ordinary, angry Hindus who burn churches without killing anybody. We know also that most of these communal incidents often involve persons from the same groups—often Dalits and tribals—some of who have converted to Christianity and others not.

However reprehensible the destruction of Babri Masjid, no Muslim was killed in the process; compare this to the 'vengeance' bombings of 1993 in Bombay, which wiped out hundreds of innocents, mostly Hindus. Yet the Babri Masjid destruction is often described by journalists as the more horrible act of the two. We also remember how Sharad Pawar, when he was chief minister of Maharashtra in 1993, lied about a bomb that was supposed to have gone off in a Muslim locality of Bombay.

I have never been politically correct, but have always written what I have discovered while reporting. Let me then be straightforward about this so-called Hindu terror. Hindus, since the first Arab invasions, have been at the receiving end of terrorism, whether it was by Timur, who killed 1,00,000 Hindus in a single day in 1399, or by the Portuguese Inquisition which crucified Brahmins in Goa. Today, Hindus are still being targeted: there were one million Hindus in the Kashmir valley in 1900; only a few hundred remain, the rest having fled in terror. Blasts after blasts have killed hundreds of innocent Hindus all over India in the last four years. Hindus, the overwhelming majority community of this country, are being made fun of, are despised, are deprived of the most basic facilities for one of their most sacred pilgrimages in Amarnath while their government heavily sponsors the Haj. They see their brothers and sisters converted to Christianity through inducements and financial traps, see a harmless 84-year-old swami and a sadhvi brutally murdered. Their gods are blasphemed.

So sometimes, enough is enough. At some point, after years or even centuries of submitting like sheep to slaughter, Hindus—whom the Mahatma once gently called cowards—erupt in uncontrolled fury. And it hurts badly. It happened in Gujarat. It happened in Jammu, then in Kandhamal, Mangalore, and Malegaon. It may happen again elsewhere. What should be understood is that this is a spontaneous revolution on the ground, by ordinary Hindus, without any planning from the political leadership. Therefore, the BJP, instead of acting embarrassed, should not disown those who choose other means to let their anguished voices be heard.

There are about a billion Hindus, one in every six persons on this planet. They form one of the most successful, law-abiding and integrated communities in the world today. Can you call them terrorists?

An addiction of different kind...

the techies call it Web 2.0, I call it a mere addiction. Look at me. I never used to write diary may be till 3 years ago. But today I am just addicted to writing blog. I can't stand it if my blog remain unattended even for a dew days. And Web has taken such a new look in last 2 years that life without web is just not thinkable. Even if we take the example of Orkut, the most widely used social networking site, it has gone through such a rapid change and each change is a new development. Today, even scraps took the form of a conversation. Seriously, web has given a totally different and new view to life. It has changed our mentality. Till some years back, people used to confine their feelings, thinking, beliefs and even emotions into pages of a small book, they call it personal diary. Yes, it was very much personal and reading such a diary without owner's approval was regarded as a crime. But today, people openly cry out loud, put forward views, feelings and even emotions through the web. Let it be blogger, wordpress or any other sites. Studies says that even youngsters are more prone to social networking, blogs. Web, which was once regarded as a easy access to the world of porn and was thought to be harmful for young people is no longer so. Life without web.... can't really think such a life.

End of a Quiet Week

Diwali vacation is finally over and everybody is back to work. However enthusiasm and zeal is lacking in everyone in this slow down time. Fear of recession, lay offs and all those bad feelings. For me, Diwali was just 2 holidays. I actually didn't do anything special in the last week. But, one thing which I found special was that, the whole town was so quiet and calm for the week except for the noise from fire crackers. There were less vehicles in road, not much people in the road and I really loved it. I could get a feel how this place must have been 9-10 years ago before the IT and BPO revolution ruined the serenity of the place. But, we are back to square one. The roads are again full of vehicles and incessant crowd and what not. It was so relaxing to see the places so serene, may be even for a few days. I wish everyday were Diwali.

F**k those leeches

First they enter our territory in search of livelihood because their country or their religion can't even satisfy their basic needs. Start here with low end works (thanks to Indian's mentality of classifying low & high jobs). Once they can fill their stomach, satisfy the bare minimum needs, they collectively start to thank their God for giving then a okay type life. India being a secular nation never stops such activities. Here even illegal foreigners have the right to practice whatever they like in the name of religion. Then they start looking into the politics of the country, take advantage of the greedy natives of this country ranging from security personnel to government officials. Take proper identifications for themselves. In the process they become citizens of the country, and finally participate in the democracy. Then they start looking at the property of the indigenous people, start encroaching it, endangering the lives of local people. If the localities protest or retaliate, our mother fucking government call it communal violence or atrocities against minorities and human right people come into picture. So, finally, with sympathies from people of this country who follow the same religion like them and government's greedy eye for votes make them safe and they start doing their filthy works. Assam saw such a nasty work of those leeches, who are sucking the blood of the people this part of the country since 2 long decades now. Administration knows everything, but don't do anything. Hosting Pakistani flags to slaughtering cows for a feast when Pakistan wins against India in cricket matches, all sorts of anti-national works are done. But no body questions. And, finally they name themselves Islamic Security Force. These leeches, they are never part of this country; but look at the guts in their asses !!! They are fighting for their rights. Holy Shit. It was all possible because of coward and corrupt Indians. For money, we Indians can sale our mothers in the market. If we can see our own land, our own people bleed - we have no right to call ourselves the greatest creation of God. Even, a wild animal have emotions and sympathies for its fellow members of the group and try its best to protect from predators.
I have no problem for the people who practice that religion. But, I do have problems if people belonging to that religion shows sympathies for foreigners or illegal immigrants because they think they follow the same God. But, wait, your are forgetting something. You practice Islam, which is something Holy and never asks for bloodshed. Its teachings are on the same line of other religions to promote peace, love and fraternity. Those leeches practice Talibanism, which is built on the foundation of blood, hatred and fucking Jihad. So, look before sympathizing them next time. You might be putting fuel into your own destruction. Jihads knows no religion.
