A Tribute to the King of Pop

Every step I take, every move I make
Every single day, every time I pray
I'll be missing you
Thinkin of the day, when you went away
What a life to take, what a bond to break
I'll be missing you

PRITAM - King of Plagiarism

Here goes Pritam again - Music Director of upcoming bollywood movie NewYork starring John, Katrina & Niel.

Had Pritam been a computer software professional, he would have sold all Open Source Softwares in his name. I don't know what the Indian Music Industry is doing. Pritam should be banned from making (rather copying) music. Atleast he should have the ethics of putting the tag "Inspired From:" under his music labels.

Anyways, the song Hai Junoon, OST from NewYork is copied from Samson's (A Band from Indonesia) Naulari Lelaki. Here goes both the songs.

Original Song:

Derieved Song:
(Nowhere in YouTube, I could find the original video for this song, if you have found the link, please put it as comment)

The Winner Stands Alone

Paulo Coelho again. The Winner Stands Alone - his latest offering. Read 30-35 pages and I just loved it. The novel deals with the story of Igor, a Russian guy - handsome, rich and successful, whose wife leaves him for successful fashion designer. How, Igor follows his dream of bringing his wife back. The novel will tell the futility of celebrity, wealth, the meaningless of the fabulous lives of the riches.

I loved one part of the first few pages of the novel. It gave an ultimate definition of fashion. Fashion is merely a way of saying - I belong to your world. I'm wearing the same uniform as your army; so don't shoot.

In another part, its told "A man never notices what a woman is wearing, because they are always mentally undressing her" ... awesome.

This novel gonna be a cool one.

The novel is available for online reading here.

The Can of Coke

It dates back to April 1995. Although, coke was launched much before that, but the red colored can of coke was just becoming popular in my place. If I remember correctly, it used to cost 15 bucks. However, for me (or may be for people like us), it was a luxury to drink a can of coke. But, looking at our enthusiasm, or may be desire, dad got us 2 cans of coke. I remember this, because it should be 13th or 14th of April - during Axxomiya New Year (Bihu) times. The whole things doesn't end here. After finishing the cans, I cut open the mouth of it, for making it a holder for pens, pencils etc. And 2 years back, in 2007, when I was in my native place, I saw the same can of coke, nicely put in a table (which used to be my study table). And, I am quite sure that its still there. After 14 years, that can is not just a pen holder anymore. Its a repository of my teenage days. A rememberance of those simple and entropy free days. Which cease to exist now. The God of Small Things ??? These type of remembrance looks silly... but I feel it takes us away from too much materialistic feelings which reigns everybody's heart and mind.

Rhythm of the Rain

....
These are the seasons of emotion

And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient
Upon us all a little rain
Must fall.
Just a little rain?
Ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

- The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin

So, the first rain of the season (not counting the pre monsoon showers).
And the feeling of the monsoon knocking the roof of the houses really rocks. So, if the Rain God is kind enough, we will have four months of Green , Green and just Green all around. And, everybody will be just singing ... Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain ...

B.I.N.G

"Bing Is Not Google"... B.I.N.G http://www.bing.com/ ... a GNU way of saying GNU is Not Unix.

That's what Microsoft calls its new search engine. I checked out bing without comparing it to google and I liked it. Specially, the driving directions it gives. Surprisingly, bing could give me the right way to my house from my office. Since its the Microsoft's way, I liked the interface as well. Above all, bing does some socially sensitive searching. When I search SEX in it , it gives me the following result:

The search sex may return sexually explicit content.
To get results, change your search terms.

An India specific search result ? Whaterver... Microsoft has also released an official mozilla extension to add bing as a search engine into firefox. But, its always good to use it with IE 8. Somehow, I didn't get a good feel of using MS Virtual Earth with browsers other than IE. Necessity is often the mother of invention. When MS couldnot get Yahoo under its umbrella, it came out with bing.
